I’m glad that you liked it, Joy. As it was clearly nearing the conclusion I was guessing about what would transpire. I was both surprised and satisfied with the ending. Both of us at this point are at or near the age of the elected pope and thankfully have developed some wisdom about what works for us.

Hey Joe,
I streamed this movie today and thought it was excellent because it showed that our path can only be known by us, no matter what others think. Earlier in my life I sometimes found it hard to stay on my path and not wander off when influenced by others. At this point I have a knowing (for lack of a better explanation) about what is best for me. Part of that ease of knowing is, of course, that my beloveds are not living with me and I can feel my own energy and knowing very easily. I really liked the movie.

Sometimes they do seem expensive, but on the other hand it doesn’t take much. If you consider, for example, a piece of fish or beef, then the cost for an expensive mushroom is actually less. So I will do another post or two working my way though the mushrooms.

I always wanted to do this also. They have so many great mushrooms and so expensive. So glad you are going to try them first and save me the expense .
I did try one or two once – I must have overcooked them -they were tasteless.

I have made this recipe since the late 1980′s. I attended a demo by Guiliano and was given this recipe. I think the best pasta to use is bucatini. I occasionally add either mussels and shrimp and sometimes only one of them, delicious.
It is especially good in the summer with home grown or locally grown tomatoes.
I was looking for this recipe when I was away from home and couldn’t remember the proportions of tomatoes to pasta. I was very happy to find it on line.

I went to ALCE in Bologna. I went for two months in the fall of 2011 (September to November) and 3 months in 2012 (April through June). I would highly recommend the school and noticed that you had visited there last fall. On my first trip I walked up to San Luca. I’m not sure that I would have done it if I’d realized how far it was. I did a blog post on that adventure. Probably October of 2011. I love Bologna and look forward to returning for at least two months later this year.
